It's been a long night, but it's almost spring break!

Plans for spring break...
1) Basketball game in Fergus Friday
2) Breakfast and cards on Saturday
3) Former roommate's wedding on Saturday in Alexandria
4) Heading to the cities on Saturday, staying until Wednesday morning
5) Work/chill/read/catch up on homework until Friday afternoon
6) Go to Confirmation retreat at IPBC for the weekend w/ 5 kids from Liberty

Just thought you might want to know. And it's 2:52, so I'm in no hurry to get to sleep right now.

This is going to come back to haunt them...

Actual quote from http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3220894

"In return for Santana, the Twins would receive center fielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Phil Humber, Kevin Mulvey and Deolis Guerra -- a package which some talent evaluators believe could be the fourth-best offer that Minnesota received during this process."

Note that... fourth-best.

I thought that after the signings of Morneau and Cuddyer, things were looking up for the Twins and our new GM Bill Smith. After today, not so sure... Time will tell!

Seriously, I feel like I'm going to cry.

Perfect Song for Me...

Scott Krippayne - I'm Not Cool

some people tell me that i look kind of funny
my nose is red and the braces don't work at all
they say the clothes i wear are all out of fashion
i don't fit in and should be shopping at a different mall
i studied classical piano
when i could've been playing guitar
i used to drive an el camino
and i'm not even sure it's car

Chorus:
i'm no cool but that's okay
my god loves me anyway
i'm not cool but that's alright
i'm still precious in his sight
i'm not cool but i don't care
how i'm supposed to do my hair
i'm not cool but that's okay
my god loves me anyway

it doesn't matter if i know all the lingo
he doesn't mind if i'm not hanging with a certain crowd
some people still believe in building an image
but i am finding that's a worry i can do without
i used to wish i was athletic
but football was never my game
i made some friends in mathematics
but no one can spell my last name

chorus

he says that i am a one of a kind
and i don't have to try to be somebody else
he believes in me and says i'm free to be myself
i can be myself

Clarification of Previous Post. (maybe!?)

first of all, i want to make this very clear: i do not condone underage drinking. period.

If you are a Christian who seriously is trying to follow Jesus, I suggest you read and meditate on Romans 13. I'm pretty sure it's clear that we must obey the government (at least in most cases... obviously there are exceptions). that means underage drinking is NOT acceptable for a Christian. and I would go further to say that speeding is just a serious offense against God as underage drinking is! there's another issue that would be fun to discuss: speeding... or illegal downloading?!? anyway, back to the issue at hand...

i absolutely agree that existing laws need to be enforced.

and punishments should be stiffer. i say take away a driver's license for a year or two of anyone who gets a dui/dwi. a slap on the wrist or a fine is NOT ENOUGH for someone who disregards the safety of his/her self or the lives of anyone else on the road.

additionally, how many 21 year olds are realistically mature enough to drink? i'd say maybe 20%?? if we're really going to take seriously that "stupid kids" aren't smart about drinking, we better raise the age to about 25, when i'd say that the other 80% have a good chance of catching up to maturity.

Sometimes I wish I were more opinionated so that I'd have more to write on here. Like controversial stuff. Wouldn't that be more fun? I wonder if maybe I am actually pretty opinionated, but I just don't realize it because there are so many people around me that agree with me already. Like politics, for example. I hardly even know a Democrat, except Kaj, I think. I barely know anyone who wouldn't "call" themselves a Christian anyway, aside from my Mormon buddies (who I'm hangin' with on Tuesday afternoon). What else... hm. Well I guess I am a Laker fan and a UCLA Bruin fan, so I'm definitely in the minority there. Twins, Vikings, those are pretty much the same though.

Someone disagree with me on something, so we can do some arguing!

Oh, I know! I firmly believe that we should not have a "legal" drinking age in the United States, or at least it should be drastically reduced (I'm not advocating 5 year olds going into liquor stores, emptying their piggy banks for a bottle of booze). I say let the parents teach their kids how to be responsible. Also, if you remove the temptation to "rebel," I think you'd have a whole lot more teenagers actually think about their decision to drink or not to drink, instead of having peer pressure run their lives.

Whaddya think about that, huh??
